OVERVIEW 

  • Statewide positivity rate: 2.6%
  • 26 fatalities
  • 728 ICU patients
  • 461 intubations
  • 3,185 hospitalizations (down 689)
  • Statewide 7 day average positivity rate: 2.06% 

POSITIVITY BY REGION

  • Mid Hudson: 2.3%
  • Long Island: 2.1%
  • NYC: 2.1%
  • North Country: 1.3%
  • Capital Region: 1.6%
  • Western NY: 3.4%
  • Finger Lakes: 2.7%
  • Mohawk Valley: 1.4%
  • Central NY: 1.2%
  • Southern Tier: 0.7% 

VACCINATIONS

  • CDC announced new guidance: individuals that are fully vaccinated do not have to wear masks, except when in crowded settings.
  • This Thursday (4/29), the state will open up vaccine sites to walk-in appointments.
  • All local health departments and county sites will be allowed to have walk-in appointments.
  • 45% of the NY population has at least one vaccine.
  • Governor Cuomo warned that hesitation will get in the way of vaccinations.
  • NY will launch an ad campaign encouraging people to get vaccinated.
