OVERVIEW

  • 150,000 tests conducted yesterday
  • 57 deaths
  • 4.3% statewide positivity rate
  • 4,400 hospitalizations, up 61
  • 906 ICU patients
  • 577 intubations
  • Governor added COVID numbers have been mostly flat recently.
  • He stressed residents continue to adhere to safety protocols to ensure numbers stay down.

Vaccinations 

  • To improve equity, the Governor announced "Roll Up Your Sleeves" public education campaign earlier today.
  • 10.5 million total doses administered to date.
  • Over 4 million New Yorkers fully vaccinated, about 20% of state.
  • Everyone over the age of 16 will be eligible beginning tomorrow.
  • Mass vaccination sites have highest administration rates but pop-up sites better serve communities due to proximity.
