From the Governor's Briefing via Conference Call:

OVERVIEW

  • 80,000 tests performed.
  • 631 positive, which is a .7% rate of infection.
  • 12 straight days under 1% rate of infection.
  • 6 deaths reported.
  • 548 hospitalized.
  • SLA found 5 establishments in violation last night.
  • The Governor again called on local governments to "do their job." 

COVID/FLU

  • DOH will be reaching out via letter to county departments of health regarding simultaneous flu and COVID testing. 

SCHOOLS

  • The Governor stated that there will be an answer within the week on youth sports/competition between schools.
  • Lessons need to be learned from Notre Dame and UNC opening and the spread of COVID. 

FEDERAL

  • The Governor stated that FEMA is now refusing to waive the 25% state match that had been announced months ago.
