  • Statewide positivity rate without micro-clusters: 5.21%.
  • Statewide rate with micro-clusters: 5.66%.
  • Micro-cluster positivity rate: 7.08%.
  • 159,844 tests conducted yesterday.
  • 83 deaths.
  • 5,712 hospitalizations.
  • 1,040 ICU patients.
  • 572 intubations.

OTHER

  • Governor Cuomo warned that in one month we could have 11,000 in hospitals.
  • Hospitals could be overwhelmed by January, if nothing changes.
  • NYC is a special concern because of density and crowding.
  • We must do two things:
    1) Increase hospital capacity; Hospitals should form partnerships, balance patients, and alert the DOH prior to being overwhelmed.
    2) Slow the spread; 74% of spread comes from small gatherings, "living room spread."
  • On vaccines:    - NY will have 170,000 doses from Pfizer and 346,000 doses from Moderna. 

The Governor’s Office also released the following Executive Orders: 

Executive Order 202.81 

Highlights

  • Extends moratorium on evictions through January 31, 2021.
  • Suspends indoor dining in NYC.
  • Allows for gyms, fitness centers, salons barber shops, spas, tattoo parlors, nail salons, cosmetologists, estheticians, to operate at 25% capacity in “Orange Zones.” 

Executive Order 202.82

  • Broadens who can administer COVID & Influenza vaccines and other activities involving COVID care.
