LATEST NEWS & INFORMATION - 7/13/20

From Governor Cuomo’s press conference in NYC: 

OVERVIEW

  • 792 hospitalizations.
  • Rate of transmission: 1.1%.
  • 10 deaths reported over the last 24 hours.
  • 51,000 tests completed yesterday with 1.08% positive. 

FEDERAL

  • IHME model now forecasts that 40,000 more Americans will die unless the country takes the proper precautions.
  • The Governor was joined by Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms.
  • The Governor offered help with testing and contact tracing. 

REOPENING

  • Schools can reopen if the region is in Phase 4 and daily infection rate remains below 5% using a 14-day average after August 1.
  • Schools will close if the regional infection rate is above 9% on a seven-day average.
  • There are state guidelines to determine how districts reopen.
  • Guidelines are available through NYSDOH, NYSED, and the Reimagine Education Advisory Council.
  • The Governor will be issuing an emergency health order mandating that out of state travelers from designated states must provide local authorities with contact info upon entering the State.
