From Governor Cuomo’s press conference via conference call:

OVERVIEW

  • Mayor Sylvester Turner of Houston, Texas was a guest on the conference call and thanked NY for PPE and test kits.
  • Over 72,000 tests conducted yesterday.
  • 769 tests were positive (1.06%).
  • 14 deaths were reported over the last 24 hours.
  • 813 total hospitalizations. 

REOPENING

  • 5,000 establishments have had cases of failure to comply.
  • The Governor announced additional bar and restaurant regulations:
    - NYC will have a three-strike policy, where businesses will be closed after three violations.
    - Bars must only serve alcohol to customers that are eating.
    - No walk-up bar service.
  • NYC will enter Phase 4 on Monday, depending on numbers.
  • The Governor will make a follow-up announcement at 4:00 p.m. tomorrow.
  • There will not be additional indoor activities in Phase 4.
  • The Governor announced a national advertising campaign to wear masks.
  • Governor Cuomo clarified that 92% of travelers are complying with filling out forms at airports.
