From Governor Cuomo’s press conference in New York City:

OVERVIEW

  • 69,698 tests were performed yesterday, 811 positives, infection rate is 1.1%.
  • 706 hospitalizations.
  • 13 deaths reported over the last 24 hours.
  • 30 positives in the Capital District are attributed to one July 4 party.
  • There are concerning trends from around the County.
  • States that rushed reopening are now “reclosing.”
  • 39 states are seeing an increase in COVID cases. 

QUARANTINE

  • NY’s quarantine enforcement is serious.
  • Local governments need to enforce.
  • Police are at airports, you must fill out a form and indicate where you are going.
  • It is illegal to leave the airport without filling out the form. 

CONTROLLING THE VIRUS

  • New York’s success in controlling the virus depends on 49 other states success in controlling the virus.
  • NY will launch a video ad campaign “Mask Up” to warn young people of dangers. 

TESTING

  • DOCCS Facilities (Prisons & Detention Centers)
    - 3,900 tests were performed, 77 people tested positive, 1.9% infection rate.
