6/12/20 Updates 
From Governor Cuomo’s press briefing in New York City:

OVERVIEW 

  • 42 COVID deaths recorded over the last 24 hours. 

REOPENING

  • Watching the daily testing number.
  • NYS performs 50,000 tests per day.
  • Hotspots continue to be Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens.
  • COVID is spiking again in 21 other states that have reopened.
  • 14 states are seeing all-time high numbers of positive cases.
  • Since NY has reopened the number of positive cases has continued to go down.
  • NYS now has the lowest rate of transmission of any other state. 

NOT-FOR-PROFIT REMOTE PROCEEDINGS

  • S.8412 (Benjamin)/A.10498-A (Paulin) was passed in the Legislature and delivered to the Governor.
  • This legislation codifies an earlier Executive Order issued by Governor Cuomo to allow for remote proceedings of board meetings.
  • The bill would allow for not-for-profit corporations to hold meetings through remote communications to the extent the board of that organization authorizes that participation.
