6/14/20 Updates 
From Governor Cuomo’s press briefing in Albany:

OVERVIEW

  • 23 COVID deaths recorded over the last 24 hours.
  • All of the numbers continue to improve. 

NEWS

  • NYS is extending open enrollment in the health exchange for an additional 30 days to July 15.
  • The State is opening low-risk youth sports in Phase 3. Two spectators per child.
  • NY is launching a Department of Health study on impact of COVID on minorities. 

REOPENING

  • NYS received 25,000 complaints of businesses that are in violation of the reopening plan (especially at bars and restaurants).
  • A bar or restaurant violating these rules can lose their liquor license. The State Liquor Authority inspectors are out monitoring restaurants and bars. 
  • Violators can be fined for open containers and social distancing violations.
  • Protesters and police must wear masks.
  • Local governments are responsible for monitoring compliance with reopening plan.
  • Manhattan and the Hamptons are the leading areas where violations are occurring.
