6/17/20 Updates 
From Governor Cuomo’s press briefing in Albany:

NOTE: The Governor will finish his daily briefings on Friday, 6/19. Additional briefings will be held on an as-needed basis. 

OVERVIEW

  • 17 COVID deaths recorded over the last 24 hours.
  • Lowest 3-day average since March 21. 
  • Roughly 60,000 tests conducted in NY yesterday and .96% tested positive for antibodies. 

FEDERAL

  • The government is making a mistake on how they are advising the American people on the facts.
  • States without “smart” re-opening plans are seeing a rise in cases.
  • Federal projection models changed to indicate a projected 89,382 more deaths. 

REOPENING

  • NYC is on track for Phase 2 on Monday.
  • Long Island will enter Phase 3 on Wednesday.
  • Westchester, Rockland is on track to enter Phase 3 on Tuesday. 

EXECUTIVE ORDER

  • Today Governor Cuomo will sign an Executive Order protecting whistle-blower healthcare workers.
  • The Governor will also sign an E.O. making Juneteenth a holiday for State employees.
