6/18/20 Updates 
From Governor Cuomo’s press briefing in New York City: 

NOTE: The Governor will finish his daily briefings tomorrow, Friday, June 19th. Additional briefings will be held on an as-needed basis.

OVERVIEW  

  • 29 COVID deaths recorded over the last 24 hours.
  • Roughly 68,500 tests conducted in NY yesterday and .90% tested positive for antibodies.
  • Lowest percent of positives and lowest number of hospitalizations since we started.   

CONTACT TRACING  

  • An apple manufacturing plant in Oswego had a cluster of positives at the plant (34).   

REOPENING  

  • NYC expected to enter Phase 2 on Monday.
  • Compliance by people and enforcement by local governments is key for Phase 2 & 3.
  • The Governor will strengthen State enforcement to protect New Yorkers via Executive Order.
  • Violations of reopening rules and guidelines can result in the State Liquor Authority immediately revoking a liquor license.
  • Business establishments will be responsible for the sidewalks in front of their doors.
  • The State will release guidance today for colleges and universities for the Fall.
